Product Overview
HomeCurtains™ MERIN-O-Z CHAMPAGNE MIST Velvet Blackout Curtains are custom-made drapes designed to bring soft neutral warmth, tactile comfort, and understated luxury into residential and selected commercial interiors.
Crafted from polyester velvet with merino-inspired tactile softness, this fabric has a plush, suede-like surface and a subtle matte sheen that drapes beautifully. The SOFT CHAMPAGNE colourway sits between warm ivory, pale oatmeal, and light cream-beige, creating a refined neutral that feels bright, calm, and inviting.
The fabric uses an uncoated textile finish with no rubber backing and no plastic coating, helping maintain a softer drape and a more natural fabric appearance.
Offering approximately 80–85% light reduction, these curtains help improve privacy, soften glare, and create a calmer, more comfortable interior environment.
Fabric & Performance
Fabric: MERIN-O-Z CHAMPAGNE MIST velvet blackout curtain fabric
Material: Polyester velvet
Texture: Plush suede-like velvet surface with merino-inspired tactile softness
Structure: Soft heavyweight drape with smooth folds and a matte-luxury finish
Colour: SOFT CHAMPAGNE
Finish: Uncoated velvet fabric — no rubber backing, no plastic coating
Light Reduction: Approximately 80–85%
Privacy & Light Control: Helps provide visual privacy, soften natural light, and reduce glare
Interior Comfort: The heavy fabric structure adds visual weight, softens room echo, and helps regulate thermal comfort by reducing direct sunlight exposure and window heat transfer.
The fabric has a softly weighted, tactile feel that allows it to fall into smooth, relaxed folds. In bright daylight, SOFT CHAMPAGNE can appear closer to warm ivory or creamy oatmeal. In the folds or under warm evening lighting, the colour becomes deeper and slightly warmer.
Natural tonal variation is part of the character of velvet. The colour may appear lighter or deeper depending on the direction of the pile, curtain folds, room orientation, and surrounding light.
Performance may vary depending on fabric colour, fullness, installation method, track or rod position, and window exposure.
Best Suited For
Residential spaces: Bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, apartments, open-plan interiors, warm minimalist homes, refined coastal interiors, and soft contemporary renovation projects.
Commercial spaces: Boutique hotels, accommodation suites, wellness spaces, calm hospitality interiors, styling studios, reception areas, and interior design fit-outs.
Fire-retardant treatment may be available upon request for selected commercial projects.
Colour & Styling Guide
SOFT CHAMPAGNE is a light champagne-beige with warm ivory, creamy oatmeal, and subtle sand undertones. Its soft neutral colour helps brighten a room while adding warmth and gentle visual depth.
Palettes: Warm white, ivory, cream, oatmeal, beige, light greige, sage, olive, clay, and cocoa brown
Materials: Pale oak, Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, walnut, travertine, limestone, linen, bouclé, wool, rattan, and ceramic décor
Hardware: Matte black, brushed brass, antique bronze, warm nickel, or discreet white curtain tracks
Interior Styles: Warm minimalism, organic modern, Japandi, refined coastal, soft contemporary, quiet luxury, and relaxed Australian interiors
For a calm neutral look, pair SOFT CHAMPAGNE with warm white walls, pale timber, oatmeal upholstery, and natural stone.
For a warmer scheme, combine it with walnut furniture, bronze hardware, muted olive, clay, or cocoa-brown accents.
For layered light control, pair it with a warm-white or ivory sheer.
For the most refined finish, install the curtains close to the ceiling and allow them to fall to the floor. S-Fold or Wave Fold headings create a clean modern look, while pinch pleats provide a more tailored finish.

SIZE GUIDE
SIZE GUIDE
The Golden Rule: Measure Your Track or Rod First
Curtains should be measured based on the curtain track or rod width, not only the window glass width.
To achieve proper fullness and a natural drape, most curtain styles require extra fabric width, depending on the selected heading style.
What Does “Flat Curtain Width” Mean?
Flat curtain width refers to the fabric width when the curtain panel is laid flat, before gathering, pleating, or folding.
It is not the same as your window width, track width, or final coverage width.
For example, if your track is 200 cm wide and your selected curtain style requires 2.0× fullness, the total flat curtain width required is:
200 cm × 2.0 = 400 cm total flat curtain width
For a set of 2 panels, this means:
Each panel: W200 cm flat width
Total set width: W400 cm flat width
Recommended Fullness by Header Style
Rod Pocket: 1.5× – 2.0×
Grommet / Eyelet: 1.8× – 2.0×
Ring Top: 1.8× – 2.0×
Double Pinch Pleat:
2.0× for track length of 200 cm and above
2.2× for track length below 200 cm
S-Fold & Wave Fold Track Systems
S-Fold and Wave Fold curtains are calculated differently because they depend on the number of carriers and the spacing system.
Our calculations are based on standard carrier spacing of approx. 6 cm.
S-Fold / Button Snap System:
Number of carriers × 12.5 cm
Wave Fold / Hook Attachment System:
Number of carriers × 10 cm, 12 cm, or 14 cm
10 cm spacing creates a softer wave.
12 cm spacing is our standard balanced wave.
14 cm spacing creates a deeper, more dramatic wave.
Please check your track system carefully before ordering, as some suppliers use the terms S-Fold and Wave Fold differently.
Measuring the Drop
The curtain drop is the finished curtain height. Please measure from the correct starting point based on your hardware and selected heading style.
Grommet / Eyelet:
Measure from the top of the rod and add approx. 2.5 cm for the fabric above the eyelet.
Rod Pocket:
Measure from the top of the rod to your desired finish point and add approx. 1 cm, as the rod diameter can make the visual hanging drop slightly shorter than the flat curtain drop.
Pinch Pleat / Hook Top / S-Fold / Wave Fold:
Measure from the bottom of the track body and subtract approx. 0.5–1 cm as the gap between the curtain header and the track/rail.
For floor-length curtains, we usually recommend leaving 0.5–1 cm clearance above the floor, unless you prefer a soft puddle look.
Free Height Adjustments
We offer free custom drop adjustments within our adjustable range:
Rod Pocket / Back Tab:
Up to 263 cm
Most Other Headers:
Up to 274 cm
Please specify your desired drop in the Order Notes at checkout.
For drops above the standard adjustable range, additional tailoring or fabric joining may be required.
Before You Order
Please measure 2–3 times before confirming your order.
As most curtains are made or adjusted to your selected size, heading style, and fabric choice, we cannot offer returns for incorrect measurements once the order has entered production.
If you are unsure, please contact us with your track width, drop, preferred heading style, and photos of your window or track setup before placing your order.
