ALORA | Luxe Textured Chenille Blackout Curtains

Soft texture. Sculptural drape. Quiet luxury for Australian homes, hospitality and commercial interiors.

The ALORA Luxe Textured Chenille Blackout Curtains combine a richly woven surface, soft tactile finish and substantial 1500 GSM construction. Designed as a contemporary alternative to smooth velvet and casual linen-look curtains, ALORA introduces warmth, depth and designer texture without an overly glossy or formal appearance.

Available in Forest Olive, Cocoa Mocha and Oatmeal Cream, the collection suits bedrooms, living rooms, media rooms and home offices, as well as boutique hotels, serviced apartments, cafés, restaurants, office lounges and premium commercial spaces throughout Australia.

  • Fabric: Premium soft-touch textured chenille
  • Weight: Substantial 1500 GSM heavy-weight construction
  • Front Finish: Richly woven matte surface with visible texture and subtle tonal depth
  • Reverse Side: Coordinating reverse in the same shade, with a slightly different texture from the front
  • Drape: Substantial fabric body for full, structured and flowing curtain folds
  • Acoustic & Thermal Comfort: The dense, heavy construction helps absorb indoor sound and supports improved thermal insulation
  • Light Control: Approximately 85–98% blockout, depending on colour
  • Applications: Residential, hospitality, accommodation, office and commercial interiors
  • Header Compatibility: Suitable for standard tracks, rods with rings and S-Fold/Wave Fold systems when ordered with the appropriate header
  • Customisation: Custom curtain width and drop adjustment available, with drop adjustment within the standard production range at no extra charge

A Softer Expression of Modern Luxury

ALORA combines the softness associated with velvet with a more natural, visibly woven chenille texture. Its matte surface responds gently to changing light, revealing the depth of the weave and curtain folds without excessive sheen. The result is a luxurious curtain that feels warm, tactile and contemporary rather than overly formal.

Substantial 1500 GSM Comfort

The heavy 1500 GSM construction gives ALORA its generous drape and premium sense of substance. The dense fabric helps soften everyday indoor noise and reduce echo while adding an additional insulating layer between the window and the room.

These qualities make ALORA especially suitable for bedrooms, media rooms, hotel suites, cafés, restaurants, consultation rooms and shared commercial spaces where privacy, comfort and atmosphere are important.

A Coordinated Finish on Both Sides

The reverse side is presented in the same coordinating shade as the front, creating a considered appearance from both inside and outside the room. Its texture is slightly different from the richly woven face, giving each side its own subtle character while maintaining a cohesive colour finish.

Designed for Residential and Commercial Interiors

For Australian homes, ALORA adds softness, privacy and visual depth to bedrooms, living rooms, media rooms and full-height windows.

For commercial projects, its tactile surface, substantial drape and refined colour palette complement boutique accommodation, hotel suites, cafés, restaurants, office lounges, consultation rooms and other design-led hospitality spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are ALORA curtains suitable for bedrooms?

Yes. Forest Olive and Cocoa Mocha provide approximately 95–98% blockout, making them particularly suitable for bedrooms, media rooms and spaces requiring stronger light control. Oatmeal Cream provides approximately 85–88% blockout for customers who prefer a lighter, warmer interior.

Do ALORA curtains provide acoustic and thermal benefits?

The substantial 1500 GSM construction helps absorb indoor sound, soften echo and provide an additional insulating layer at the window. Results will vary depending on the room, window, curtain coverage and installation method.

Do both sides of the curtain look the same?

Both sides are presented in the same coordinating shade. The reverse side has a slightly different texture from the richly woven front, providing a cohesive colour appearance with subtle variation between the two surfaces.

Can ALORA curtains be used in commercial spaces?

Yes. Their substantial drape, premium texture and acoustic and thermal qualities make ALORA suitable for boutique hotels, serviced apartments, cafés, restaurants, office lounges and other design-focused commercial interiors.

Are ALORA curtains suitable for S-Fold or Wave Fold installations?

Yes. ALORA can be ordered with an appropriate header for S-Fold, Wave Fold, standard curtain tracks or curtain rods. Its substantial fabric body helps create defined, flowing folds.

Can the curtain drop be customised?

Yes. Custom drop adjustment is available within the standard production range at no extra charge. Curtain width can also be adjusted to suit your track, rod or project measurements.

See and Feel the Texture First

Order an ALORA fabric sample to compare the colour, weight and woven texture in your own space. The fabric sample cost is fully refundable with any curtain order.

Please note: Light-blocking, acoustic and thermal results are approximate and may vary depending on curtain colour, curtain coverage, window type, installation method, surrounding gaps, direct sunlight and room conditions.

SIZE GUIDE

The Golden Rule: Measure Your Track or Rod First

Curtains should be measured based on the curtain track or rod width, not only the window glass width.

To achieve proper fullness and a natural drape, most curtain styles require extra fabric width, depending on the selected heading style.

What Does “Flat Curtain Width” Mean?

Flat curtain width refers to the fabric width when the curtain panel is laid flat, before gathering, pleating, or folding.

It is not the same as your window width, track width, or final coverage width.

For example, if your track is 200 cm wide and your selected curtain style requires 2.0× fullness, the total flat curtain width required is:

200 cm × 2.0 = 400 cm total flat curtain width

For a set of 2 panels, this means:

Each panel: W200 cm flat width

Total set width: W400 cm flat width

Recommended Fullness by Header Style

Rod Pocket: 1.5× – 2.0×

Grommet / Eyelet: 1.8× – 2.0×

Ring Top: 1.8× – 2.0×

Double Pinch Pleat:
2.0× for track length of 200 cm and above
2.2× for track length below 200 cm

S-Fold & Wave Fold Track Systems

S-Fold and Wave Fold curtains are calculated differently because they depend on the number of carriers and the spacing system.

Our calculations are based on standard carrier spacing of approx. 6 cm.

S-Fold / Button Snap System:
Number of carriers × 12.5 cm

Wave Fold / Hook Attachment System:
Number of carriers × 10 cm, 12 cm, or 14 cm

10 cm spacing creates a softer wave.

12 cm spacing is our standard balanced wave.

14 cm spacing creates a deeper, more dramatic wave.

Please check your track system carefully before ordering, as some suppliers use the terms S-Fold and Wave Fold differently.

Measuring the Drop

The curtain drop is the finished curtain height. Please measure from the correct starting point based on your hardware and selected heading style.

Grommet / Eyelet:
Measure from the top of the rod and add approx. 2.5 cm for the fabric above the eyelet.

Rod Pocket:
Measure from the top of the rod to your desired finish point and add approx. 1 cm, as the rod diameter can make the visual hanging drop slightly shorter than the flat curtain drop.

Pinch Pleat / Hook Top / S-Fold / Wave Fold:
Measure from the bottom of the track body and subtract approx. 0.5–1 cm as the gap between the curtain header and the track/rail.

For floor-length curtains, we usually recommend leaving 0.5–1 cm clearance above the floor, unless you prefer a soft puddle look.

Free Height Adjustments

We offer free custom drop adjustments within our adjustable range:

Rod Pocket / Back Tab:
Up to 263 cm

Most Other Headers:
Up to 274 cm

Please specify your desired drop in the Order Notes at checkout.

For drops above the standard adjustable range, additional tailoring or fabric joining may be required.

Before You Order

Please measure 2–3 times before confirming your order.

As most curtains are made or adjusted to your selected size, heading style, and fabric choice, we cannot offer returns for incorrect measurements once the order has entered production.

If you are unsure, please contact us with your track width, drop, preferred heading style, and photos of your window or track setup before placing your order.
